Guidelines for Undertaking Coursework Studies

Guidelines for undertaking coursework studies will help you in successfully completing your studies by coursework. The requirements can include literature review, minor project, research proposal, seminar presentation and coursework writing. You will discuss with your supervisor the details of the research project you will propose. After which you will immediately start the literature survey if you are accepted to the research option of completion. You can start the minor project in the same semester or after.

Function of the research option is to give you training on research methods which you will use in your research requirements in academics and your future professional career. You will accumulate actual experience which you will need in higher studies. If you choose the research option, you are expected to develop an approach to framing and addressing research questions which approach is critical and rigorous. You should also aim to develop skills necessary in independent research specifically regarding sampling design, data collection, data analysis and interpretation relating to the research field.

Whether you are completing your studies and earning your degree through coursework writing or research, you need and will use an understanding of methodological and analytical approaches which are relevant to research work. You will use proficiency in literature evaluation and data collection and analysis not only in your academic life but more so in your future professional life. Skills in preparing and presenting written technical reports are also expected of you to be developed.

So that you can complete your studies, you need to show that you have the qualities which you will show in your coursework writing, research and other projects which you will fulfill in your studies. These qualities include the abilities to adapt knowledge to new situations; plan, conduct and manage research in your discipline; select and organise information and communicate them accurately, cogently, coherently, creatively and ethically; speak and write clearly, coherently and creatively; conceptualise and evaluate a range of potential solutions to relevant problems; apprais information critically and conduct research in an ethical manner.

When doing your tasks in your projects, you have to communicate closely with your supervisor. As you are engaged in a form of scientific writing, you have to organise well because it is half of the entire endeavour. Give time and effort in preparing a detailed outline which you will present to your supervisor before you write anything.
